Is there a way to get Square to allow customers to pay for their service and the salon gets their fee and the tips go directly to the W-2 employees' bank accounts? Instead of the salon holding on to the tips and adding them to the paycheck. Seems like if we could integrate that process, it would make for a smooth checkout.
HI @RavenandRose ,
Yes, this is possible if you use Square Payroll. We are doing it my business this way.
It would also be conceivably possible for you to do this through another Payroll provider by activating the setting that the employee does NOT take their tips, but this sounds like what you are referencing that you do NOT want to do. I have to ask - how else are you expecting to get the money to the employee without paying it in their paycheck?
But, for what it's worth, Square payroll works great.
hello! Thanks for responding. We do use square payroll, and yes, i love it! I'm looking for a way to have the customer pay for services with one swipe and the tips get routed to the stylists' bank account directly. square can set them up as contractors and the full amount goes into their bank accounts, so it would seem to be an easy switch to offer that for w-2 employees. what i do now is add their tips to their paychecks and they get their accumulated tips when they get paid.
Ah! Yeah, I do it like you are doing it, and it's an interesting idea when you have "subcontractors" working a salon. Seems like it might be an ideate request. Maybe search for that in the ideate board, and if it doesn't exist, make the suggestion.
