Software Updates, Uber Eats integration, and so many other things

Hi,

I am trying to add Uber Eats to my Cafe options. The articles I have read about on-boarding difficulties seem to suggest that the problems I'm having may be due to needing a software update to the newest version of Square. I have been unable to determine where I can execute this update from and I'm also wondering why this wouldn't be automatic when other updates have been. For example, what can be accomplished from the Square smart phone app, vs. a Chromebook accessing dashboard, vs. a real computer accessing the Dashboard. I don't seem to have the same options from each device.

When I originally tried to onboard, the screen options aren't the same as the help articles. I feel like everything is out of sync. I got as far as clicking SETUP for Uber Eats, but it just endlessly loaded with no end. Now I'm essentially at a standstill.

I've lost faith in the Customer Support phone line. The last time I called, I got a trainee who didn't understand my issues and refused to transfer me to someone who could help, saying first there was no one to transfer me to, and then that they weren't allowed to transfer me.

I'm desperate. Please help. Thank you!

Hello @BadRabbit and thank you for reaching out to the Square Community with your question and feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you've had some trouble connecting Uber Eats to your Square account and that you weren't able to resolve this over the phone. My name is Violet and I'm one of the Square Community Moderators. I'm happy to help you with this.

I've looked over the Support Article for "Set up Uber Eats integration with Square" and it does appear the instructions are out of date from what's currently on the Square Dashboard. I apologize. I'll submit a request to our Content Team, so they update this appropriately. You'll still set this up from your Dashboard, but the settings you'll need will be under Account & Settings, then App integrations. Then, click Visit App Marketplace at the bottom. This will direct you to the App Marketplace page, where you can type "Uber Eats" into the search bar. Click on Uber Eats and then select Get Started. Then, you'll be directed to a new page where you can continue setup

I can also provide an explanation of what you can do with Square on each of your devices:

On a smartphone or tablet in the POS app: Take payments, manage items, run reports, and open basic Apps integrations (often the same “Apps” menu you see on the Dashboard, but optimized for mobile).

Chromebook/web Dashboard: Full back-office control—team, items, taxes, locations, hardware setup, App Marketplace, online store settings, etc.

Mobile browser Dashboard: A trimmed-down view. If you’ve been toggling between the POS app and the mobile Dashboard, some menu items will look different or be missing because they can only be accessed on desktop.

I hope this information is helpful, but please do let me know if you have any additional questions, or need any further assistance with setting up Uber Eats.
