Return to Vendor function

We need the ability to return items to vendors through a documented, trackable record, like with a "negative PO".

We frequently have items from vendors for a limited period of time, and return things that don't sell. At the moment the only way to remove those items from inventory is to reduce the quantity in the item record on each individual item. That means there is no record of that return in a format that can be downloaded and saved.

Please add this function to Square Retail. RTV - Return product To Vendor is a common scenario in retail and it should be part of Inventory management.

I believe this can be achieved by a simple solution. If you can introduce one more value "Return to vendor" in the "Stock Action" drop down and treat is exactly as "Damage" "Theft" or "Loss" and have an option to generate negative PO, it should solve the issue.

I appreciate you guys reaching out and providing your feedback on the need for a Return Product to Vendor feature. 

You both have provided a great assessment of the potential business use/need for something like this on our platform from a seller’s perspective. This is a useful tool for our Product Team to use as they build the future of our products. As more information becomes available, a Community moderator will come in and change the status letting all of the subscribed sellers know.

I think just having a voucher system, like any retail program should be equipped with, should not be something we have to request? It should be a built-in feature to track incoming inventory and any inventory going back to vendors for whatever reason. While purchase orders are handy for making sure the correct items are received, receiving vouchers are needed as they incorporate much more useful information. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain the need for vouchers to a company providing a "Retail POS", but here we are.

I  appreciate you sharing your business use case and why it would be valuable for you @lux_pos . I have merged your submission with the other request here. If you know of any fellow Seller Community members who would like to see this built out as well, feel free to tag them in your post so they can share their thoughts as well! The more sellers chime into the request, the more likely it is to catch our product team's eye.

This is a critical functionality item for our business. I have nothing to add in terms of functionality but want to lend my voice, pleading for a solution. We offer "truck shows" for many of our vendors which is an equivalent to a pop-up shop. This creates a significant churn in inventory as we do not operate in a consignment manner.

I have asked for this feature as well. Any updates Square??

Where are we at on the return to vendor capabilities?

The site will not allow me to "like" this thread as directed on the main feature request page, but I would like to vote for this as well. Bulk returns are nearly impossible--you either have to manually update quantity (which doesn't leave a paper trail), or "sell" them out for $0, which affects sales data.

Please find a solution to this. Since joining Square, I'm really appalled over how many things we have to beg for that seem standard in a retail business.
