Recognize External Keyboard

The new search layout is causing some issues for us. We added a USB keyboard in hopes that it would help by making it more clear whether we were using the barcode scanner into the search bar or the cart. 

Unfortunately, the register doesn’t recognize when it has an external keyboard plugged in and it still shows the on screen keyboard. As the onscreen keyboard takes up half the screen, this makes it hard to see what we’re doing and what’s in the cart. Would love if the register would recognize the USB keyboard and not display the onscreen one.

I agree that a USB keyboard connection would be great to have! For now, I'd recommend checking out the bluetooth capable keyboards that do work with Square hardware, at least for iOS devices.

The USB keyboard works with our Square Register (we don’t use iOS devices). It just doesn’t make the on screen keyboard disappear.

It never occurred to me that I would be able to use a usb keyboard. The on screen keyboard does indeed get in the way many times, and being able to get rid of it would be a nice option.
