REQUEST: Integrated Kiosk and Customer Display Hardware

Hello Square,

We are a high volume fast serve restaurant operating in a food court.

We are trying to integrate the kiosk into our order flow but are running into issues due to lack of counter space.

We wanted to request a new hardware product: a customer display that also functions as a kiosk.

Currently the customer display and kiosk are strictly separated. But a better and more future oriented concept is a display that both shows and accepts customer credit card payments AND a kiosk as a single product.

I believe there are many stores in a similar spot as ours, with space for just the customer display in front of the register but not an additional kiosk anywhere else. It would also be a better experience for the customers if they could also place their orders on that screen instead of at a separate location.

The screen should be slightly bigger to allow for kiosk functions. If menu size is a concern, note there are many stores with relatively simple menus but with high volume. 

If these functions were integrated, it would greatly reduce the need for cashiers to always be present at the register and also pave the way for future cashier automation. It could possibly be a big hardware hit.

EDIT: it just occurred to me that another way to achieve this behavior would be to let the existing kiosk hardware connect directly to the Square POS but I’m not sure this is technically possible. But if so it would be just as good.

@gkgrill The kiosk software works with the 2nd generation stand.  They are essentially the same thing.  You can just install the kiosk software on the same stand as the Square Stand v2 and when you don't have a cashier, just spin it around and it will function for kiosk for you.  That is what I would recommend.  The register is a great product, and there updates coming for it I believe, but this is a good interim.
