This has been covered these past few years in posts I’ve read but I’m not seeing anything recent in the feature request area so I’m bringing it up again.
In a service based industry (I’m a hairstylist), tips should be calculated on the service only. With Square, the tip % is calculated on whatever the total is, even when items (retail products) are purchased.
Since there is a Service category and an Items category in Square Appointments, why is it not possible to indicate what category the tip % is calculated off of? There are sooooo many ways to customize Square, which can be great and overwhelming at the same time. But this issue needs to be addressed.

I have a salon and spa; please, Please do this; I agree; it is a deterrent for tipping when clients are prompted to tip on the total ticket amount. We only want tips for the service provided. It would also be nice to add an additional tip option for the customer to leave a little tip for the spa/salon attendant if they choose, just a custom amount. We had this on a previous system, and clients liked to just be able to leave a couple of dollars for these assistants.

YES! Thank you 🙌🏼
I remember seeing posts in the past as well, but haven't seen anything come back to action. I'm tired of repeating to my client "the percentage is for the total including your products, so if you wish to put a tip on your card, please select custom amount - your service was xxx."
There should be a way to implement. We have the option to make items taxable/non taxable, why not have the option to turn tipping on or off a specific item, or remove tipping from the Items Library as a whole SPECIFICALLY for Appointments app.
