Feature Request: View entire list of purchased items within a Customer Profile.

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Entire List of purchased items in Customer Directory.

G'Day Legends,

I would love to have the ability to see an entire list of items a customer has purchased in the customer directory. I know that the Phone App has this function but is limited to the last year and web version however does not, only showing 3 of the most frequent items.

This is all well and good but would love to have an option or a button that just shows EVERYTHING that the customer has bought.

From my understanding there's no simple way of doing this, unless you go through the transactions of the customer, but when you click on one it opens a new tab to the transaction. It's just not as elegant.

Would love to know if there's a better way already or have the team look into this to see if it can be implemented.

Cheers

Hi @MrBagz

Thanks for reaching out!

Using the Square Point of Sale App (Version 6.59, iPhone 13), I can view the full history of transactions for my customers by clicking View all in the Transactions section of the Customer Profile. This allows me to see transactions dating over 12 months. When I access the Square Dashboard through my web browser (Safari, iPhone 13), I can also see all transactions for a customer (as far back as 2023).

Could you please update your app and web browser, then follow the instructions below to see if you experience the same results?

Square Point of Sale App

  1. Open your Square Point of Sale App, ****and navigate to More > Customers.
  2. Select the customer's name to open their Customer Profile.
  3. In the Transactions section, click View All to access their complete list of transactions.

Square Dashboard

  1. Visit the Square Dashboard and go to Marketing & Loyalty > Customer Directory.
  2. Select the customer's name to open their Customer Profile.
  3. In the Transactions section, click View All to see their full list of transactions.

Thanks - I’ll be on the lookout for your reply. 😊

Hi @Katie_SQ

Yes using the dashboard and clicking "View All" on the Transactions from a customer works great but on my original question I stated this already, if you click on a transaction it opens a new tab. This just feels clunky.

Would love a View all button for all items a customer has bought similar to the app version, but allows for longer history than a year.

Would love it to be, Customer Directory > Click on Customer > Scroll to Frequent Purchases > Have a button "View All" > Opens a list of all items the customer has bought.

If there isn't a way like this, might be an idea to pass on the team.

Might help a few other community members.

Sorry for the confusion @MrBagz, and thanks for clarifying!

Currently, we don't have a feature that allows you to view an entire list of purchased items for a customer in the way you're describing, so I've moved your thread back to the Feature Requests board. If we have any news to share on this in future, a Community Moderator will reach back out here to provide an update.

In the meantime, you might consider exporting an Item Details Transaction Report for each customer instead. While it is a manual process and only captures data for up to one year, it does allow you to view all items a customer has purchased:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and navigate to Reporting > Transactions.
  2. Select your desired date range (up to one year).
  3. Change the filter from #Card to Customer and enter your customer's full name, email address, or phone number.
  4. All transactions associated with that customer will appear for the selected date range.
  5. Click the Export button in the top right corner and select Item Details CSV.
  6. Download the spreadsheet, which will include all items purchased by the customer within that timeframe.

I understand this isn't a perfect solution, so I appreciate your feature request, which would offer a more seamless way to access this information. Please let me know if you have any other questions! 😊

Hi @Katie_SQ

Thank you for moving the thread.

Would love updates for this if it becomes a thing.

As for you work around, thankyou.

As you said, not perfect, but it works in the meantime.

Thank you
