Edit/Change floor plan directly from the POS rather than having to use the dashboard

Create a section in the POS on the floor plan that easily allows you to move the tables and edit the layout if need be. My restaurant use to use Ordermate which had this feature. Right now the way it works is i have to edit the floor plan from the square dashboard which is the back end of things and isn’t very seamless. As the owner I am the only one with access to the dashboard side meaning non of my staff have the ability to move tables around on the fly. We often have to move our tables around depending on the size of the group and is a daily occurrence. This means our layout on the pos is consistently wrong and doesn’t reflect the actual layout as its too annoying for my staff to contact me when I’m not at the restaurant to move it around on the backend to reflect correctly on the POS.

Thanks for reaching out to share your use case with us! You're right: at this time, editing or rearranging the floor plan directly from the Square for Restaurants POS isn't supported. Floor plan changes currently need to be made through the Square Dashboard, which, as you noted, can be limiting if only certain team members have access.

We’ll continue to track the feedback we receive on this platform for now and share any updates as they become available.

In the meantime, you could consider updating the access points of the assigned permission set for select team members to include Dashboard access. This will allow your team members to have an account to access the Dashboard on squareup.com, but only access the things they have permission for.
