Classes Feature to Reschedule

I would love for my students who are booking my classes, to be able to RESCHEDULE a class, instead of cancelling. If they are rescheduling before the late cancellation time period, this would prevent me from having to give them a refund (and lose fees from the sale, as well as the refund). Many times students schedules change, and if they make the change with enough notice it would be great if they could just reschedule the class they paid for and apply it to a class at a later date. Since not all my students buy packages, many do a single-class purchase at a time, this would be extremely helpful! So a button that says cancel class, and one that says reschedule class (or transfer payment to another class).

I agree that the option to reschedule a class before the late cancellation time period is a must.

I absolutely need this feature for my Pilates studio, too!

I have lots of loyal students who like to book themselves in, but then need to switch times, this would allow me to slide them into a different day and time more easily, and assist with not "losing the sale" but suggesting other days and class times instead of a straight cancel. Like when they went into cancel it would say, "cancel appointment" or "reschedule" appointment. And the reschedule would show them all the future dates they could transfer their payment to.

This would help me greatly retaining sales and keeping customer data accurate. Currently to avoid having to process a refund and resale (which eats a huge chunk of our profits as the transaction fees triple) we leave the ticket as is, raise the available tickets for that class by 1 and lower the available tickets on the rescheduled to class by one. And have to manually note for ourselves and the customer to ignore the reminder message and that we just know they will be in on the different day. It’s confusing for our contractors, our customers and ourselves both during the classes and when we process payouts to the contractors.

 

It’s super inconvenient for everyone.

Adding on to this, my Pilates studio would also greatly benefit from this feature. One caveat I would like to add is that different studios have different policies. I do not allow refunds, so preference would be to not have the ability to grant the customer an automatic refund (or at least make this feature customizable).

This feature is an absolute MUST. I build booking solutions mostly on Square for all types of service-based solopreneurs and the fact that you cannot reschedule a class like you can in Acuity and most other competitors is bizarre. 

 

1) it is misleading to have a language about rescheduling within the cancellation policy when rescheduling for classes isnt even support. 

2) i agree with the fees, it is such an issue for business owners to continue to eat the cost of transactions the way it is setup today...maybe that is Square's strategy, to make more money on transaction fees? i sure hope not but who knows. 

3) i agree with the comments above, this is not a refund, it is simply sliding to a different slot.
