Someone is using my personal information and they opened up an account in my name. I have police reports to back this up. They did have a driver's license stuff in my name. They also stole my Bank of America card and used it yesterday. And my social security number. What should I do?

Hi there, @rebeccayoder04.
I've moved your post to a private board, so we can get some more details from you.
I'm sorry to hear this issue is what brought you to the Seller Community. Did you previously have a Square account before your identity was stolen?
Please be sure to follow @Candlestore 's steps as well.

From a quick google search an an AI response:
- Report the theftFile a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online at IdentityTheft.gov or by calling 1-877-438-4338. You can also file a police report and include a copy of the FTC Identity Theft Affidavit.
- Contact creditorsCall the fraud or security departments of any creditors that have been affected, including credit card companies, banks, phone companies, and utility companies. Ask them to close or freeze accounts, and to report them to credit bureaus as "closed at consumer's request".
- Place a fraud alertAsk the credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your accounts. You can also apply for an extended fraud alert that lasts for seven years.
- Place a security freezeAsk the credit bureaus to place a security freeze on your accounts. This prevents creditors from accessing your credit file without your authorization.
- Check your credit reportMonitor your credit reports regularly, especially for the first year after you discover identity theft.
- Contact the IRSIf your Social Security number was stolen, the IRS may be able to help.
- Get a recovery planIdentityTheft.gov can provide a recovery plan that includes steps to take next, phone numbers, and letters to send.
