I can't get into my account it is asking for a 4digit passcode I have my username and password I'm not sure what to do please help

Added a team member recently, and now i can not do anything on the app without a 4 digit pin, and never set one up
I need a 4 digit code . how to get??

I went ahead and also merged your post to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed the 4-digit passcode on the Point of Sale. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future.

You should setup a pin for each user or at minimum 2 Pins 1 for sales associate and 1 for Owner. You can edit or create a Pin by following below.
Here is how:
Go to team member in your Square Dashboard by following the link below:
Then click add team member and follow the instructions.
After doing this depending who is signed in via Pin, you can limit access.
I have 1 Pin for Sales Associate and 1 pin for the Owner which have different access avail through the point of sale apps.
You can also create different permissions for the different users.

I'm the owner with 0 employees and I'm getting same thing, and like you I never set a pin or passcode! Very frustrating & disappointing
If you go to the below link for your Dashboard on a computer not cell or tablet:

Then Scroll down to Staff then Team.
You will see the 4 digit passcodes for team members and the Owner.
I have my store sales all listed through the Business name as a Staff member with limited access and a different 4 digit pin for Owner access.
I start the App and enter the Stores Pin once in the morning and never need to enter it again for the day. You may need to look in settings to see if it automatically logs out or will require a pin after X minutes. This is a safety setting to keep unwanted people out of your system to get cash. There are also settings to ask for a pin for certain types of transactions, such as refunds or discounts etc. The Pin can be used as a Managers Key to over ride some types of transactions.
Now I do understand your point as not having any employees, since it is only my wife and I running the store currently and not wanting to enter the PIN for every transaction.
Here is how to disable Passcodes (Pin):
You can disable passcodes by following the below steps
Note: Disabling passcodes will prevent team members from logging into the Point of Sale with a team passcode or personal passcode.
Tap the following icon in the navigation bar:
or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register
Tap Settings > Security > Passcodes.
Toggle Allow Team Passcode off.
