spam messages in the square inbox

All of a sudden we have a huge uptick in spam messages in our square inbox.  Is there a way square could maybe prevent the onslaught of these?

If not it would be great if you could delete or archive a message, as all these spam ones really clutter up the feed of new legitimate messages. Thanks

Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ You're definitely not alone โ€” Iโ€™ve noticed a big uptick in spam messages recently too, so it seems like something has shifted on the backend.

๐Ÿ›‘ While thereโ€™s no built-in spam filter (yet):

  • Square Inbox doesnโ€™t currently offer filtering or archiving, which makes it tough when youโ€™re trying to keep legit client messages front and center.

  • You're right โ€” a delete/archive/mute feature would go a long way in keeping the inbox organized!

๐Ÿ“ Hereโ€™s what you can do right now:

  1. Use Message Labels (if available on your plan):
    Create a โ€œSpamโ€ label and tag unwanted messages to help keep them separated from your real customer convos.

  2. Submit Feedback
    Squareโ€™s Inbox is still evolving โ€” use Settings > Feedback in your dashboard to request:

    • โœ… Automatic spam detection or filtering

    • โœ… Ability to delete/archive conversations

    • โœ… Option to block certain users or mark as spam (like email platforms do)

The more of us that flag this, the sooner itโ€™ll get prioritized. ๐Ÿ“ฃ For now, tagging or ignoring the thread is unfortunately the only workaround. But Iโ€™m with you โ€” hope Square implements a fix soon!
