All of a sudden we have a huge uptick in spam messages in our square inbox. Is there a way square could maybe prevent the onslaught of these?
If not it would be great if you could delete or archive a message, as all these spam ones really clutter up the feed of new legitimate messages. Thanks
Hey there! 👋 You're definitely not alone — I’ve noticed a big uptick in spam messages recently too, so it seems like something has shifted on the backend.
Square Inbox doesn’t currently offer filtering or archiving, which makes it tough when you’re trying to keep legit client messages front and center.
You're right — a delete/archive/mute feature would go a long way in keeping the inbox organized!
Use Message Labels (if available on your plan):
Create a “Spam” label and tag unwanted messages to help keep them separated from your real customer convos.
Submit Feedback
Square’s Inbox is still evolving — use Settings > Feedback in your dashboard to request:
✅ Automatic spam detection or filtering
✅ Ability to delete/archive conversations
✅ Option to block certain users or mark as spam (like email platforms do)
The more of us that flag this, the sooner it’ll get prioritized. 📣 For now, tagging or ignoring the thread is unfortunately the only workaround. But I’m with you — hope Square implements a fix soon!
