Hey @Windswept and @drenn, I can help here! You can switch to the new plus plan from the Pricing and Subscriptions page in your Dashboard. This article has a step-by-step guide on how you can switch

A couple of thing to note:

  • Once you have switched to the new plan, you will not be able to revert back to the old subscription, so definitely take your time to compare and review that all the feature you needed are there.
  • If you are upgrading to a higher subscription tier, you may receive a 30-day free trial for that plan if you have not had a trial in the past. Otherwise, you will be charged a prorated fee for the remainder of the current month.

Let me know if you have any question!

@tranguyen

We know how to switch, you didn’t answer the question though ..

I currently use both Marketing and Loyalty and have two charges every month for those services.

If I choose the Plus Plan, since it looks like Marketing and Loyalty is included, I’ll now get once charge a month for the Plus plan and no longer get charged for Marketing and Loyalty separately… is that the case?

Additionally, will Square automatically make the changes behind the scenes once we select the Plus Plan or is there additional steps on our end to Marketing and Loyalty (and in @Windswept-garde case Staff Management).

Thanks

Thanks for the additional context @drenn.

To confirm, if you want to opt into the Plus plan, the only action you need to take is to select the plan and switch from your Dashboard. Once you have made the switch, you'll only get a monthly charge going forward instead of individual subscription charges like before. All the changes will happen behind the scene.

The only exception is if you have purchased your subscription through Apple or Google App Store, then you'd need to cancel that first before switching to avoid duplicate bills.

This article should have all the information you need on making the switch. If you run into any issue, let us know!

Thanks @tranguyen, I just want to alert you to that the article you are sharing highlights a tool for comparing our current subscriptions that doesn't appear to exist. It doesn't show up when I go to the pricing migration page, and others are reporting the same thing.

Oof, thank you so much for letting me know @anniemcg! I'm flagging this to our Product team as well so they can check and make sure the tool is working as expected.

I will share an update in this thread once I hear from them!

Thank you again for flagging this to us @anniemcg! I replied in the other thread but want to re-share here as well:

The Compare Your Plan button is currently being rolled out to all sellers and should be available in your Dashboard by the end of this week. For the moment, the best way to understand how your current plan is compared to the new plan is to visit our website. You can also use our Fee Calculator to understand how your processing fees may change under each plan. I want to note that right now, it is not a requirement to switch to the new pricing plan, so please take all the time you need to make the right decision for your business.

@tranguyen Thanks for the updates. The plan comparison pages have indeed improved since the first few days after the announcement. I just want to share my own analysis to help anyone else trying to make the decision:

It appears that with the premium plan ($149/mo), I'll be able to drop Messages Plus ($10/mo), Shifts Plus ($32/mo), and Appointments Plus ($29/mo).

So I'd need to save $78/mo in credit card processing fees in order for it to be worth it. We tap about 400 credit card transactions per month, with an average check of $85, so at the new rates we will just barely come out ahead with the switch.

Hi, I have been using the $29 plus plan for several months. I do not want or need to add features. Is my plan going away or turning into the $49 plan? It is very frustrating that this change is lacking transparency.

Completely understandable @Milkweedbst and I'm here to help. Before I guide you to the right resources, could you let me know what's the current Plus plan you are using? Is it for Restaurant, Retail or Appointments, or a different subscription?
