contacless payments show Unknown

How do you deal with that on Sqare terminal?

Hey @rbcchicago.  Where do they show up as unknown? On Checkout screen? In a report? On the customer’s bank statement? An example would help a lot to give us some idea where to begin to assist you. As would a screen shot or two. I can’t figure out where to start

its shown under Transactions as Unknown as well as in the Directory

Welcome to our Seller Community! We're always thrilled to see new faces. 

 

Payments will show as Unknown or not show a customer at all if the customer has not provided their information to your business and is not part of your customer directory. This will happen regardless of the payment type. 

 

As for how to deal with this while using a Square Terminal, the Terminal will offer the option to add a customer to your transaction before the transaction is processed, similar to how the app will have the "Add a customer" button. Once a customer is added to the sale, their customer profile will be attached to the transaction.
