Smart Group: Email Subscribers vs Marketing Audience

My numbers are not consistent? In my customer directory, I have 1605 total customers, there are 976 customers in a smart group entitled email subscribers. However when I schedule a marketing campaign, it only shows 871 reachable customers. Why are these numbers different?

Hi @TrinityTreasure Here is a summary of how these lists are different.  These are lifted from the referenced documents.  I hope they help clear up any questions, but let me know if you have any further concerns.

 

Expanded Reachable Customers announcement (10/2016)

Reachable customers include:

  • Any customers you have imported or added to the directory that have an email address
  • Customers who’ve visited you at least once within the last 12 months, AND
    • Paid with a credit or debit card
    • Elected to receive a digital receipt via email

Customer Directory updates (12/2020)

Email Subscribers does not include customers who have unsubscribed, nor does it contain email addresses that have bounced.
