Pending Contract

I went to check to see if a customer had signed their contact and it says "Pending".  I've never seen that before it normally either says "emailed" or "signed" does anyone know what that designation mean?

I have not comes across this before, but want to take a deeper dive into this to figure this out. Can you provide a screenshot of the pending notice?
