New to Square Loyalty

We just enabled Square Loyalty and have a couple of questions. We are mobile and mainly using the loyalty program to drive people to our website.

 

1. Asking for the customer's phone number at checkout, is that the only way to see their points during checkout?

 

2. When checking out on the website, on the checkout page is there a place for the customer to enter their number to accumulate or redeem points?

 

3. How is everyone getting people to sign up for the program?

Yes, our Loyalty program uses phone numbers to identify customers, so they need to enter their number at checkout. 

 

Of course, when checking out online, there will be a place for customers to enter their phone number. 

 

I'll allow other seller to answer your last question!

Hi @rtfulk.  I started really using the Loyalty Program last year.  At that time, I didn’t really do marketing or signage.  I just set up my POS to display the loyalty screen for folks to enroll as they wished.  Even without a lot of aggressive marketing, we got some decent traction.  This year, I have been pushing our program on Facebook, adding Loyalty Promotions (double point Mondays, etc), sending a Marketing email to my customer list, and I added a small sign to the front counter by the payment terminal.  We’ve been open for our preseason 4 days now and I’ve gotten 21 new customers!

 

Given that my Loyalty Customers are spending 35-50% more per visit than non-loyalty customers, it’s turning out to be a great program for us!  I wish you well.
