Hi everyone,
We have multiple locations that are an hour apart in distance. The demographics are different.
We have a newsletter subscribe form on our website using the custom form from Square. We send out a newsletter every Tuesday through the Square marketing.
I have been digging deep and searching all the forums trying to find a way to set up an option for our guests to choose which location they'd like to subscribe to.
I see in the customer records in square that there are customer groups by location. And that I can specify newsletters by customer group.
When a customer comes into a specific store location and we add them on the point of sale, their customer record gets tied to that location's customer group.
Is there a way through the subscribe form or by building something out through the API, that we can allow them to choose which customer group they belong to (ie. Location) when they subscribe to our newsletter? Has anyone with multiple locations successfully done this?
This way we can have a different newsletter go out for each location that has specific information that's relevant to that location.
Thank you very much for all your help.
This is a great idea and while not yet possible, we’d love it if you'd submit this request on our Ideate page for Square Online. Our team monitors these boards, and we triage them to measure needs. You can search the boards to see if this has been requested before and add your use case if so!
Ok, will do.
However, there must be a way through the API at least.
Is there anybody who has accomplish this custom via the API through programming on their website?
I'm thinking we're going to have to switch back to MailChimp for email marketing, unfortunately. I really love using Square for marketing, but I absolutely have to have the ability to create separate marketing for each location. With MailChimp I can specify, for each subscribe form, an email group. I'm really sad that there wasn't anybody who could come up with a way to do this. We switched from MailChimp to square marketing a few years ago, and again, I really love it, but it's just not able to do what we needed to do for businesses that have multiple locations, unfortunately. I look forward to the day when you guys program in a way to have location-based subscribe forms. And then at that point I can consider switching back.
