How to Track Booking Sources in Square Appointments (Website, Google, Instagram, Yelp, etc.)?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some guidance from fellow Square users. I use Square Appointments for my nail salon, and I have it integrated across various platforms:

  • My website (using the Square marketplace link)
  • Reserve with Google
  • Instagram
  • Yelp
  • Other online platforms

My main challenge is figuring out which of these platforms my bookings are actually coming from. I know Square must be collecting this data, but I'm struggling to find a clear report or dashboard that shows the referral source for each appointment.

This information would be incredibly helpful for understanding which platforms are driving conversions so I can focus my marketing efforts more effectively.

For example, I checked my Google Business Profile, and it's showing 0 bookings, but I know for a fact that we've received bookings that should be attributed to Google.

I've tried reaching out to Square support directly, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a resolution, and it's been a frustrating experience. I'm hoping someone here in the community might have found a way to access this booking source information or has any tips on how to better track this.

Does anyone know how to see a breakdown of booking sources within Square Appointments reporting? Or has anyone found a workaround for this? Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there, @mitin,

That is a great question, but unfortunately, we do not have those reports available based on where the booking came from. It all just registers it as the same booking information. Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business. We've shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input!

Hi @Ellie_

Thank you for your response. The frustrating part is that I have seen similar request open for 10 years. There has been no progress on it. This is not something new or groundbreaking. It is very basic for us to track where appointments come from. We need metrics on our ad spending and marketing. However, this limitation from Square is a big hindrance.
How can we, as sellers and Square customers, know that these requests are being worked on? Without a dashboard or communication from Square, it is hard for us to feel optimistic
