Fine tuning my marketing.

Over the past few weeks, I've set up my Facebook Business page, a Google Business Profile that's also linked to Google Maps, and of course my Square Online website. My Facebook page is the most refined as of right now. As of last night, I just did my first paid ad campaign for the next week. What you might want to call a "soft launch".

Before I go further if you haven't read any of my other posts on this site. My business is a knife, scissor/shear, and tool sharpening service. In the future, I may consider adding some limited knife sales that keep within Block/Square TOS. Belonging to several knife-related Facebook pages, I've been advised that most other sharpeners gain more clients through Google. This makes sense as if I was looking for a product or service, I'd look that up on Google, not on Facebook.

By the numbers... For this soft launch, I'm only spending $7 a week. Facebook guestimates between 200-500 per week (800-2000 a month) will see my ad. The city I live in has only 40,000 people, with the entire county hitting 75,000. It won't take much and I can saturate that market, but still doesn't address those specifically looking for my service.

I have content that I'm working on that I will be adding to my website. What I need is advice on how to better integrate that with my Google profile more seamlessly. For example, a client likes my work. They leave a good review on Google, how do I get that on to my website? Is that even possible? I had asked another question about how to get my stories to appear on my Facebook page but currently, I would need to copy the link on a story and then create a button on Facebook so it would redirect to my website. This I find is rather cumbersome and hopefully will be addressed in the future. My job isn't being a web designer but as a sharpener. I need to automate as much as I can so I can spend time actually doing my business.

I can't find it now, but I recall that Square Online was doing some sort of beta testing with Google Local. In as much as my business has a specific geographical limit, I would like to know more about this program and how it could benefit me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

may I say nail-on-the-head with the single word of cumbersome. I'm not aware of a simpler way to do the things you mention. More sophisticated websites with full-time web teams might be able to put tools in place but for the small business owner, I've found it manual and tedious. But, I'll be watching as this group has some amazing folks that come up with really cool stuff.

Take care of yourself and, as life provides, someone else too.
