Previously, I have been able to create a smart group and filter customers by city (in this case, I wanted to send a marketing email to everyone but customers within a specific city). This has been working for the past few years, but I noticed this year that the ability to do this was gone.
Is this a glitch or was this ability to sort customers by address (like city) removed? If removed, is it something that will be coming back?

You're correct that this was previously available. Square recently made some changes to customer filtering options, and while some location-based filtering capabilities have been temporarily limited, there are several workarounds you can use:
