Editing coupons

I'm trying to transfer my Square Online coupons over to the Square Marketing category due to the upcoming changeover. I created the first coupon to never expire but when I go out to the coupon list there's an expiration date. And I can't find a way to edit the coupon or delete it. How can I go back in and edit the coupon? Why is there no option to delete the coupon?

 

This whole changeover is a big hassle. And now we have to pay extra to limit the times a coupon is used? I'm really not happy with Square lately. I feel like I'm constantly talking to customer support. It may be time to find another website and payment company.

Hi @odysseyart.  I’m going to tag @kcapps here.  This is the person who posted the announcement you are referring to.

 

@kcapps in that announcement, you stated:

 

”This change will allow you to manage and edit coupons in one central location…” (bold type is mine).  Yet, at this time, editing definitely does not seem to be possible.  Should the referenced announcement have said there was a future date when this capability would exist and that, therefore, seller’s should wait until another announcement?  The announcement is a little confusing, anyway, since August 2024 is 6 months away, yet the announcement is very emphatic that we should be switching existing coupons now, immediately, etc.  

 

But @odysseyart is definitely correct.  There is no edit capability, even though the announcement implies there should be.  All we can seem to do is cancel a coupon in Marketing and start over.  In the case of @odysseyart‘s expiration date, I don’t think that is going to work either.

 

Help, please.

Oh, and @odysseyart.  I just ran a couple of test coupons.  It looks like you might have forgotten to toggle the “set end date” checkbox off.  I would recommend cancelling the coupon (click on … to the right of it and select cancel).  Then recreate it, being very sure to uncheck the “set end date” checkbox.  That worked for me, anyway.

 

Of course that doesn’t fix your bigger question of why we can’t edit coupons once they are created.  We’ll have to wait on @kcapps or someone to provide that answer.

Thank you. I had unchecked the "set end date" box when creating the coupon. That's why I was so surprised to see an end date listed when I saved it and went out to add another coupon.

Has this been addressed? I saw another email about migrating coupons over but I didn't seen anyone officially answer this question

Hello @odysseyart 

 

At this time, editing coupons after creation is not available with Marketing coupons. 

 

This feature is coming at a later time, but the launch date has not been established yet.

 

I understand some of these changes can be frustrating, and the feedback we've been gathering from sellers is being escalated to the appropriate teams.
