Discounts marketing/loyalty/online

Let’s talk discounts through square 

 

1. if you send out a discount code offer and a guest redeems it as well as uses a loyalty reward it will discount the gross amount not the amount after the reward/free item, so guest will recieve an even larger discount 

 

2. Square marketing will crash constantly if you try to setup discount codes outside of the recommended amounts. Often times not even allowing you to move to next screen. It is best practice to only use there recommended amounts because they know what is best for your business and your customers, and will waste your time if you try any alternatives 

 

3 Discount codes - an option to be availble for a minimum spend to use you discount. E.g. $5 off any purchase of $10 or more dollars this is currently not a feature in square so if you send out a $5 off coupon  a customer can buy a $5 item and move on. It happens to us often 

 

4 On weebly/square online you can use a reward and  not actually have it in your cart. The reward will redeem it will take the amount off the total, and not add the item. What this equates to is: guests check is discounted deeper then it should be, guest is expecting item when they arrive at business. So in turn we make free item guest was expecting and lose out on the discounted check due to reward function. 

in conclusion to clean up discounts/loyalty/coupons in square the following need addressed 

 

-discount % based offers should discount check after all other discounts 

 

-a minimum spend option should be added to marketing feature as an option

 

-discount custom amounts in marketing should be able to be used without crashing the system over and over 

 

-loyalty rewards redeemed with square online  should either automatically A not be able to be added unless corresponding item is in cart, or B if item is added to cart at checkout a force prompt is shown that makes them correct issue before they can cash out

As @Headpinz mentioned above, our Ideate boards are the best place for feature requests. 

If some of your requests are already in the board, you can simply add your vote and share your use case.
