I am having a very hard time understanding why the customer directory was updated for creating new profiles. The two main issues that we have found are:
1.) When filling in sections, autocorrect is now active causing customer names and emails to be entered incorrectly.
2.) The birthday section now requires a year which should not be a required field and even more frustrating is that you must enter the year first because the birth month must have already passed if on the current year.
These updates are doing nothing but slow us down at checkout. These secondary screens need to be quick and efficiently designed and I hope these updates are adjusted.
Hello @Jeppie, I'm sorry these new updates with the custom directory are not working out for you want. I did escalate this over to our Directory Team to get more insight. They did let me know the following:
1) Autofill would be your browser, not square. You would have to turn that off within chrome or safari.
2) With birthdays, You've always required a year to my knowledge because in the US you have to be over 13 to have an online profile, and the square profile would be considered "online."
I should have been more specific, this is an issue while using the Square POS. I wasn’t referring to the directory while using a computer through the dashboard.
Previously there was an option to add a year for the birthdate but it was not required. And we didn’t use it if the customer was obviously 30+. It started with the first year that would be eligible to sign up (13+). Now with the update the first year available is 2024. Not only is the new birthday selector much slower, it also doesn’t save when you exit the scroll. I have since noticed that almost every time one of the scroll sections doesn’t actually save.
As a paid subscriber of the CRM features, I am not happy with this poorly executed update.
But are you referring to your customer directory on your app right? The issue is entering details within the customer directory. I am sorry these changes are not working out.
