Hi there! I'm a hairstylist who wants to use her phone to tap for point of sale so I don't have to buy any hardware but I am finding that most of my services are over people's debit tap limits! 1. Is there a way to split the charge between two transactions and 2. Will the debit transaction charge also be split in two or will I get charged for two transactions?
I was excited to just use my phone but I'm feeling like I'll need to buy the square reader...
Any insight is appreciated!

Just to elaborate a little on the awesome advice from @JTPets. While the Square Appointments app does include the ‘Split Amount’ option at checkout, the intended use case for this function is where it’s necessary to accept two different types of tender for the same transaction. Half cash and half card, for example.
If you were to use this feature to bypass Tap to Pay transactional limits, it could lead to an account review and Terms of Service violation. So, I’d agree with JTPets and recommend that you invest in a Reader.
You would be charged twice & you would also run the risk of only getting half payment if the second tap didnt work - cards have tap limits before they require an insert.
Also this could be against square TOS (not sure) becayse you are bypassing a security limit
Please spent $60 and get a card reader at a minimum!
