internet connection

About to purchase the square stand with iPad. Can anyone advise if a fixed wire NBN connection is preferable to using the cellular connection via the iPad for operating the system?

Solution

Hey @KebabOnKent,

Thanks for reaching out!

Generally we advise to use NBN with a wifi modem/router to connect the iPad to the internet, however mobile 4G should be fine as well provided you have a strong connection and aren't using the bandwidth for other things such as streaming music or video at the same time.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions 🙂

Solution

Perfect. I’ll check the 4g strength inside the shop and decide if it’s good enough. Thanks Seamus

Hi there, @YTCL, thanks for reaching out to let us know!

The first step here would be to refer to the Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps, which are the same when you're hot-spotting a connection.

Toggle Wi-Fi off and on via More > Settings > Hardware > Network. Check to make sure that you see a tick next to the network to which you are trying to connect. Confirm that you see the Wi-Fi status indicator on the top-right corner of the status bar.

I would also advise scrolling down on the above troubleshooting steps page to where it says 'Supported network authentication protocols', and ensuring your mobile network is a supported network.

Let me know how you go with these steps!
