iPhone card reader

Hi. I’m new and have set everything up. I won’t be taking many payments so am planning on using the iPhone reader however can’t figure out how. It doesn’t come up as a payment option. I don’t know how to get it set up. My iPhone is compatible. I have appointments and  square apps but can only see option to put in manual credit card number etc.

Hi @Sarah753, welcome to the seller community

I don't have an iphone but i would assume the process would be the same.

Open Square app on your phone

> More

> Settings

> Hardware

> Tap To Pay

toggle on tap to pay

approve any of the access privileges the app requires and when you go to check out in the tap to pay icon will appear in the check out.

I hope this helps.

Hi again @Sarah753,

Thank you for confirming your iPhone model. After checking our online Compatibility Page, it appears that your device does not support Tap to Pay, which explains why you've encountered difficulties enabling it through your Square app.

If you'd like, you can use the tool above to explore other compatible devices. Alternatively, as a backup solution, if you need to process payments immediately and don't have any compatible hardware, you can manually process the card payment.

Hi. The tap to pay option is not there on the screen. My iPhone is an iPhone 8 on 16.7 iOS. Do I need to add it somewhere else?
