how do Square number the orders I get

I have just started getting sales through my Square website.  There does not seem to be anyt logic for the numbering of the orders and I cannot find anywhere where I could set my own numbering of my orders.  The Square numbering seems to be random and a rather long number as well.  Can anyone help please.

Hi @WendyBRC, thank you for your post! At the moment, there isn't a way to make your own ordering sequence. My understanding of the ordering system is it's generated automatically and the only requirement is that it hasn't been used. I can definitely see the benefits in businesses being able to customise their orders so I've flagged this as a feature request to the team.
