i’m looking to use, square to fundraiser money like selling raffle tickets and cookies and cakes and for some personal use examples, selling things on Facebook marketplace i’m just wondering if this will affect my tax for my normal job or be reported to the ATO
Hi @masonppl 👋,
The simple answer here is 'yes'. Regardless of your business type or classification, Square will provide you with a GST tax invoice if you’ve processed card payments through Square in the previous month.
What I suggest is that you have a read through our GST Invoices and Taxpayer Information page as we've answered a few commonly asked questions on this topic. You can also check out our FAQs page to learn more about Square's reporting obligations to the ATO.
If you have additional questions about your tax responsibilities, beyond the information provided on the two pages above, we suggest consulting a tax professional for further guidance.
