Hi! I'm Miri, of Miri's Market! I've been doing this as a business since 2020.
I started 3D printing for myself and my kids, for our D&D games, and MAN it blew up! The kids friends started wanting stuff made, their parents, other students, my co-workers, so I turned it into a business!
I have 6 kiddos, 3 by birth, 3 by adoption. 4 of them help with the business, and we spend our down time playing card and board games, as well as D&D and other tabletop games!
We're located in Central Florida, and work craft shows, and events all around the area!
@Miri Welcome to the Seller Community! Really cool to hear about how your business started 👏
Also a member of the community @mksavage recently posted a question around How do you involve your kids in your business which I wanted to share with you because I think you'd enjoy it!
Looking forward to seeing you around the Community!
That is awesome!! Thank you! 😄
@Miri Yes! I'd love to hear how you involve your kids (of all ages!) in the business. I have a 5-year-old and a baby, and this has been on my mind a lot!
Mine are all a BIT older than that! LOL
My kids are: 25, 21, 20, 18, 17, 17! The 21 and 20 year olds aren't really involved, they have their own jobs, and busy schedules. The rest help everything from painting merch to setup to running the shop, luring people into the booth (not menacing, I promise), and more! They're a HUGE help!
Hi Miri, welcome! Your story is super inspiring—turning a fun family hobby like 3D printing into a full-fledged business is such a great example of passion becoming opportunity. Love that your kids are involved too; that makes it even more special.
I’m also working on something in the food space. I run https://thedaveshotchickenmenu.com/, a site dedicated to helping people quickly find and explore the full Dave’s Hot Chicken menu. It started as a small project but has grown into a helpful resource for food lovers looking for heat levels, combos, and updates before visiting.
It’s always cool to see how unique each business journey is—yours in 3D printing and mine in food! Wishing you continued success with Miri’s Market. 🚀
Welcome, Miri! I'm Hailey, the marketing manager for the Community. I have to say I LOVE your business name. Its rolls right off the tongue and I love how personal it is to you.
Your business is so unique - I love it. Are you planning to add more pictures to your website?
Slowly but surely! Right now since we're just local "mobile" markets, pics are kind of hit or miss, but the kids are helping get good shots of everything, and its a work in progress!
And thank you! It was actually just a random half asleep idea that came to fruition! LOL
Love that your kids are helping out! Our community member @mksavage actually posted a question on this topic - It was on our Square for Restaurants thread but there are some really awesome replies on it if you want'ed to check it out and maybe add yours @Miri 😊
that is awesome. It is great when a hobby can turn into a business. 3d Printing is a lot of fun (when it goes right). I got one as a whole family present maybe 5 years ago and have just printed misc things and puzzles etc but nothing that could be a business.
are you running multiple machines?
What's the most "____" thing you have printed so far @VanKalkerFarms ?
