I've asked for location functionality on items or some type of notes option for YEARS
I use Square Appointments for my tanning salon's inventory and there are two different locations.
For storage/backstock, I created a 3rd location that I call Backstock where it is full boxes of our inventory using Square POS.
So for example, we have our salon inventory which would be 80 pack of hair nets. I have 10 cardboard boxes of these 80 pack of hair nets. It looks like this in our system:
Square appointments app: 80 packs of hair nets
Square POS app: 10 boxes of hair nets
When I pull from our Backstock and bring it to the salon, I expense 1 box of hair nets (there are 20 packs inside one box) from Square POS app, then "Add inventory" to Square Appointments app + 20 packs of hair nets
