Simple event pages often outperform “fancy” ones

Yes, fancy event pages look impressive, but our stats show that simple ones often sell more tickets. We see this when organizers redesign their page with lots of sections, graphics, and long copy. It looks polished, but conversions drop.

 

Here is what we tracked across TicketsCandy events:

- Pages with a clear headline and visible ticket button convert about 21% higher.

- Clean layouts increase scroll completion by roughly 18%.

- Long, complex pages reduce checkout starts by around 12%.

 

This happens because most buyers scan, not study. They want to know three things fast: what it is, when it happens, and how to get a ticket.

@TicketsCandy This is really great advice and not just for ticket-type sellers.  If I go to a new website and there is too much going on, it doesn't matter how much I want the product or service -- I just move on.  We tried to design our website to reflect that belief -- that simple is better, especially for the home page.  Sure, sometimes, things need many words, but we've tried to reserve those for our FAQs.
