My reader wont work with tap payments will only work when I insert card into reader? Help!!!!!!

Hi my set up was all ok. It's installed on my phone but as ai go through sale it won't work when I tap payment, will only work when card is inserted

Are you seeing any error messages when you attempt the tap payment?
