I am opening a small canteen at a beach..I will have several employees.can they all use the card reader on their own phone with the square account for the business?

Happy to hear about this new business! With Square and Team Plus you can setup profiles for your employees for all of them to have their own account that are linked to your business. That way they can each have their own phone and reader to process transactions. 

One important detail I would like to remind is the need of a reliable internet connection to process payments. I only mention this because you said this is at the beach.
