I'm am still new to SQUARE and am battling to make this work for some areas of my doggy day-care business
We will be closed on public holidays and I am needing to block those days so customers are not able to book their dogs into care.
I can see how to restrict pick up form our location for online orders from our pet shop but can not find answers to blocking a entire day on the calendar
Any help would be greatly appreciated

There are a few ways to do this.
Creating a Personal Event (it doesn't display anything to customers, don't worry)
If you're using the Square Appointments app on your phone / tablet, all you need to do is:
Make a one-time change to your opening hours
We normally do this at the beginning of each year in our business — check the public holidays ahead and figure out our hours early, then mark the days we'll be closed.
We tend to just use the personal event option as its a bit easier and more visual to staff because it displays the name of the event on the calendar view blocking the day out (the second option isn't as obvious as its just greyed out but doesn't say why).
