Confused as hell - many problems not at all user frindly please help

It's interesting that there is no group for square services!

I have built a 

I am trying to set up a website to sell domestic energy assessment (EPC and retrofit assessments) .
 I've set it up like this:

Categories ___  1. EPC 2. Retrofit Assessments and under each category I have 5 diffferent options based on the number of bedrooms in a property. They are diferent prices.

I've set up 2 categories and can't use them as I can't work out what I am meant to do. There is also no site preview so I can'tr see the progress of the work that I have done and if it's OK.

I have also tried to set up a service library. I don't understand the meaning and help is less than helpfull in advising what it's for.

Also in the retrofit category is a rubbish listing. You have an add or delete option. I can add a product but there is no option to dlete any.

I tried running the booking app in my website but the categories/products in your aren't linked.

I do have the products listed on my site. Do you have a buttonm that I can use to link the product from my site to your appointment and checking out app?

Ie customer selects the product on my site (it is passed to your basket/checkout) and at the same time links to your booking app?

If not, how to I link the categories and products to your booking app?

Also, can you fix it so that there is a delete function?

I understand how setting up your account for the first time can be confusing, and I'm here to help !

 

Could you first confirm if you have an existing website with Square or a third-party provider ? Could you share the website URL on this thread ? I won't be able to answer some of your questions, as I would need more information about your set-up first.

 

Before we get started, the following definitions might help you understand things a bit better:

  • Categories help you manage and organise your items/services on your website. 
  • Items can be physical (food, clothing) or non-physical (event, digital). Items support Inventory Tracking and can be purchased on Square Online. Unlike services, there are not bookable and won't display on your Online booking page.
  • Services are time-based with a duration, and bookable by your customers on Square Appointments and online booking page. Services do not support Inventory Tracking and do not show up in Square Online.

 

We also have a pretty helpful and complete support article that helps you get started with Square Appointments, which you can review it here.

 

Services

From what you've described, it sounds like services are the way to go for your business. If you've created items but are looking to use Square Appointments, you can easily convert these items to services (note that while you can convert items to services, you can't convert services to items) :

  1. Go to Items & Orders > Items > Service Library from your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Click Convert Items in the top-right hand corner.
  3. Click “Convert Items” at the top right.
  4. Select items to convert to services, and apply the correct duration for each.
  5. Click Convert > Confirm Conversion.

 

Online Booking Page

Once you've created or converted your services, you can mark them as bookable online. The services will then be displayed on your Online Booking Page. You can preview this page on the Appointments tab:

  1. Go to Online Booking then Channels
  2. Click on Manage next to Enable Online Booking
  3. Select View Appointment Booking Flow

 

Editing a Category 

To remove an item or service from a Category, you can simply untick the box: 

  1. In your Dashboard, go to Item Library
    Go to Category and click on the Category you wish to edit
  2. Click on Add or Remove Items
  3. Untick the item/service you want to delete from the category
    Save
