Change checkout defaults

Hi

Just set up my square website and signed up for the pro option.

What I am looking to do is add or change a couple of form fields and titles on in the checkout area.

What I am looking to do is set a field that allows customers to select a specified delivery time and also a field to add their company name.

I see there is an option field already:

Tell us where to leave the order and how to contact you

So is it possible to either change the title of this field or add/edit/remove fields so I can add the options I want to the checkout process?

Cheers

Ok thanks for the response. I've actually found a way around what I want to do by adding modifiers to each product which requires users to select an option from a required field. This can then be displayed on the order ticket so provides the infomation that we need. It works but I would say probably not the best solution as the user has to do this for each product rather than just once at checkout. But it'll do for now. Hopefully may help someone else out if they require similar.

Hey @lettie16 - the sort answer is no, it's not possible to change this text or to add in any other fields at the checkout.

I've seen a couple of posts about customisation so sure this is on the list but we need to be realistic on time frames so it's probably worth trying to look at work arounds.

Hi @lettie16, that's a great workaround! This is something that have been flagged by other sellers and we are tracking requests for this feature.

I don't have a timeline on when this will be available but I would encourage you to check out our Beta Community to join and potentially get access to new features first when we test them out.

Are there any updates on customisation at checkout? Our business would like to add fields at checkout to collect information such as 'where did you hear about us' and the customer's Instagram handle (optional).

The workaround discussed in this thread (creating product modifications) understandably wouldn't fulfil this purpose

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex, thanks for your post!

There haven't been any specific updates here.

We do have notes for the seller function that may work for you here, it may not give you the exact layout you are looking for but it should help to record the required information.

When customers check out from your Square Online site, they can leave you additional notes regarding their orders. To enable this feature:

  1. From your Square Online Overview page, go to Settings > Checkout or Shared Settings > Checkout.
  2. Select Edit customer inputs.
  3. Under ‘Checkout fields’, tick the Allow customer to leave a note to seller option.
  4. Select Save when finished.

We have some additional details about checkout options for Square Online.

Let me know if this sounds useful! @GPSfootball

Lol - I did similar thing - but like you say its far from ideal as customers want speed and simplicity - having to filter out all your options from multiple choices will send most packing
