Can you accept payments even if you account hasnt be verified?

We have just picked up 9 square readers we need for this thrusday night for markets, and I was wondering if the account can be verified in time and if not can we still accept payments. If so where does the money get stored

Unfortunately, you won't be able to pair your readers to your device to accept card payments until your Square Account has been fully verified by our team.

If you have signed up with a business type that requires a longer verification period, such as an Incorporated Entity (up to three weeks to review), you can reach out to our Support Team on Monday to ask if expediting this process would be possible ahead of your market event.

You can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm Melbourne time), or contact us via online chat or email. See the below steps.

 

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squ.re/3AWfZs2

3. Go to "Other", then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us", "Email us" or "Call Us"

 

Or, if you see the new chatbot help flow, type “support” to bring up a list of contact methods.

My actual square account is verified but just not my bank account 

 

Does that change your response

Got you, @Lex22, thanks for confirming! This certainly does change my response!

The verification process can take up to 5 business days to complete. During this time you can continue to take payments. No further action is required on your part to complete bank verification, and there is no way to expedite this process.
 

Funds accepted during the pending period will be held in your Square balance and will automatically be transferred once your bank is verified. You will receive an email once your bank account has been successfully verified, and you can always check your bank status from the Square Dashboard.

I have just registered my bank account and it was done within 30mins 

But I am unsure whether this is due to it being a school account

If you're waiting on your Square Account to be activated for card processing and you are yet to receive an update from our team (within the activation period), please reach out to us directly at 1800 760 137 (Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm Melbourne time). As this is a public platform, we're unable to look into account-specific information with you to help troubleshoot further.

It's also important to note that account activation and bank verification are two separate steps. Bank verification will only take up to five business days to verify, whereas account activation can take anywhere up to four weeks to complete.

Given that you've been waiting longer than the provided timeframe, we definitely suggest reaching out to our team to receive an update on the status of your account ASAP.
