Wondering if any other booth rental shops on here have figured out a way of categorizing booth rent?

We have chair rentals or booth rent for our barbers. I have always just done it as a memebership weekly charge under the barbers name but that effects are daily sales and all goes towards the owners account. Which is mine. So it would be nice to separate it some how to get a better reading of daily sales. Anyone else figure this out yet?

Yes, as rental income.

You will need to send them 1099 forms to fill out at the end of the year.

To separate booth rent from daily sales, you can set up two distinct categories in your POS system: one for booth rental and one for service sales. This allows you to track booth rent separately, while service sales can still go toward the owner’s account. Alternatively, treat booth rent as a separate line item in each barber’s sale or use software that tracks booth rent independently from service revenue for more accurate reporting.
