I need square to connect to Quicken. There's the option to sign in, but then it says:
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to add your account at this time.
Your financial institution is blocking Quicken from connecting to your accounts. Unfortunately, we are unable to resolve this issue until your financial institution removes to block from its servers."
When will this block be removed? Shouldn't we all get to use whatever bookkeeping services we want without restrictions?
The latest update I saw on this issue was from over 2 years ago, so I wanted to update & post a new thread with updated information on what's causing the connection issues.
PLEASE get this resolved so we can easily use any bookkeeping software we choose!
I also find it very frustrating that Square does not integrate with Quicken. I haven't found a viable solution either. Just adding to the thread to see if it gets picked up!
Same issue. As a sole proprietor, Quicken (not Quickbooks) is a standard accounting system. Would be nice if transactions could be downloaded to Quicken. I'm able to do it with PayPal and Venmo.

I would also like to connect to Quicken or any other account software I chose to use. I added a Square Checking account and am unable to connect it to Quicken which is super frustrating. I would prefer not to have to enter everything manually at the very least we should have an option to download a supported file for integration, many banks offer this option. Please let us know if this will be available anytime soon. Thanks in advance!
Still nothing on this? I've been watching the thread and hoping that Square would integrate with Quicken by now. I need to be able to download sales transactions from POS for my Quicken home & Business. Sole proprietors and small businesses often use Quicken, so we need support, too.
There is a connection option to Squareup in Quicken Home and Business for Mac, but it does not ask for 2FA and fails to connect. I contacted both Quicken and Square and they are blaming other and not willing to help with resolution.
I was looking into this today because I was able to integrate square with YNAB. It is ridiculous that I still have to put in my transactions manually.
I figured out how to do it. I used Manus to build a custom app that pulls the data via the Square API and format the export as a file Quicken can import.
Square to Quicken Sync - Automated Transaction Export Too.
I built a web application using Manus that bridges the gap between Square point-of-sale systems and Quicken accounting software. Previously, there was no direct way to transfer Square transactions into Quicken, requiring tedious manual data entry. This app automates the entire process.
Key Features:
Secure Square Integration•OAuth 2.0 authentication to safely connect your Square account•All access tokens encrypted with AES-256 encryption in the database•Easy disconnect and reconnect options for account managementFlexible Transaction Export•Select custom date ranges to export specific periods•Preview transactions before exporting with detailed summaries•See total transaction count and dollar amounts at a glance•One-click export to QFX format (Quicken's native import format)Export History & Tracking•Complete audit log of all exports with timestamps•Track which date ranges have been exported to avoid duplicates•View transaction counts and totals for each export•Comprehensive security logging of all API operationsUser Experience•Clean, intuitive interface requiring no technical knowledge•Works on any device with a web browser•Instant QFX file downloads ready for Quicken import•Real-time connection status and merchant information displaySecurity & Privacy•Enterprise-grade encryption for all sensitive data•CSRF protection and user-specific token validation•IP address tracking and audit trails for compliance•No manual handling of credentials or sensitive information
The entire application was built from scratch in a single session using Manus, demonstrating how AI can rapidly create production-ready financial tools that solve real business problems.
What is the address of the web app using Manus and how can people access it?
Please contact me directly to discuss.
