I was wondering if anyone knew if and how I can transfer some cash to my checking account here on square from my other bank? because there was fraud on my other bank account and I have no cash on my square account. if anyone can help me with that I would appreciate it.
Hi, @Spagettone ! Welcome to the Square Community 😁
Thanks @Minion for providing that article! That is super helpful.
Square doesn’t function like a traditional bank account where you can directly transfer cash from an external bank into your Square balance. Your Square balance mainly reflects payments you’ve received through Square, which you can then transfer from Square to your linked bank account.
Here’s how it works:
You cannot add funds or “deposit” money into your Square balance from another bank account.
To have funds in your Square account, you need to process sales or receive payments through Square (card payments, invoices, etc.).
Once you have money in Square from sales, you can transfer those funds to your linked checking account.
If you need cash in your checking account now, you can make a cash deposit at a participating retail location, such as Dollar General, Walgreens, or participating 7-Eleven® locations. The cash is instantly available in your checking balance so you can spend your funds with your Square Debit Card or with Square Bill Pay.
I hope this helps!
HI @Spagettone
I'm not 100% sure on this process, but here is an article with some steps for depositing cash into your Square checking account at certain participating locations.

Hi @Spagettone, I am a Product Manager from Square Banking and would like to provide some clarification.
If you meant depositing cash into your Square Checking account, @Minion and @Summer2024 have provided the relevant information.
If you meant transferring money from your external bank account into Square Checking, there are two ways:
1/ If have a debit card for your external bank account, you can link that debit card and instantly transfer into Square Checking. On your Checking page under balance amount, you should see an "Add money" button. Click that button, you will have the option to link your external debit card and instantly transfer money in.
2/ If your external bank account does not have a debit card, you can locate your Square Checking's account and routing number and initiate a bank (ACH) transfer in. On your Checking page scroll down to the "Send and receive money" section, you will find those numbers there. You can then go to your external bank account and use your Square Checking account and routing number to transfer money in.
Hope this helps.
