Why is it taking so long to get a new offer?

I’m at 82% it’s been about 4-5 business days. When will I get another offer?

Hi @KenDaBarber66

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us.

New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid. Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete.

If you made a prepayment it can take up to ten business days for payment confirmation and for your business to be re-evaluated for a new offer.

We routinely review eligibility of our sellers for Square Loans. If your business becomes eligible again, you will see loan offers in your Square Dashboard.

Please contact us directly if you have any other questions.

Hello @KenDaBarber66 thanks for your post. I know sometimes it doesn't make any sense, it's not predicable why or when you may be offered a new loan; there is nothing you need to do or apply. You'll just have to check your Dashboard; if you are selected to be offered a loan, Square will contact you. There is an option in your dashboard to connect your bank account, so if you have other deposits outside of your Square processing, the loan dept can factor that into new loan offers. Good luck to you and your business. Stay positive, hopefully you'll get another offer soon.

So are you saying that if I switched bank accounts that could affect it?

@KenDaBarber66not really sure if that could affect an offer. There is something where you can "connect" an external bank account to your Square Banking page...I think this might be used by Square to see if the volume of deposits/sales outside of your Square processing may be something else that could qualify you for an offer (but that is just speculative on my part).

No, switching banks doesn't affect your offers at all. Just make sure you update it immediately for your deposits daily or however, you choose to do your daily sales and deposit times. The external link is through Plaid and it allows access to the accounts YOU pick that Square can see. So, you can pick just see my checking and or savings balance, or you could pick see my checking account statement that shows them and I am just throwing out random numbers ok? Monday deposit 750.00 cash 250.00 checks

Tuesday 1k cash no checks. It just allows them to see okay this person is doing a good day 50/50 split of cash and cards. Again, no guarantees but it could increase your offer as you are making 2x as much as what they knew going off of only Square deposits. It is there if you want and you don't have to at all either. So @HC_Charlie was correct about linking your account 100% I just wanted to Clarify the part about changing banks was all. He does a great job helping out here! My best advice to anyone changing banks is just to do it earlier in the morning if possible and you get an email from Square confirming bank change and all set. I was hacked and unfortunately was doing it right around deposit time and received the failed-to-deposit spew and had to go back when I was done and just manually push it through instantly and done.  Good luck with your loan and hopefully soon!

Same here. It’s frustrating but it is what it is. Did you end up getting an offer. If yes when did you notice. Thank you

It's been trending higher percentage paid back to paid off for about a year and a half. Not all of course as we are all unique and process different. I know it's not the “norm” everyone is used to but unfortunately that's just honestly how it has been going. Keep processing as much as possible every day and keep disputes to a minimum to zero if possible and keep watching that dashboard. Good luck and I hope that ole algorithm picks you up fast! Please keep us posted when and what percentage if you don't mind it helps others.

Ugh!!!! That is where I was roughly. My last few were 90, 91, 84, 69, 81 in the last 1.5 roughly.  Before that 69 / 70 - 75 / 78 area. But I can count on my hands the number of 70s lately. When they posted the updated loan information about how, if, and criteria they have been sticking to it. It has been picking up especially in late Jan to about the 2nd week in February it was 3-4 people per day posting offers finally. A higher percentage but this was a great plus all said higher offer than the prior 1-2 loans. That's incredible to hear finally and hopefully, that trend continues. 6-8 months ago ugh, paid-off numbers were high and offers were lower than the previous. That's rough times. I don't work for Square people like myself help out on our off-time and we follow the trends and keep track of them. Is it 100% accurate no as we are all different from each other and what triggers the algorithm to look at mine vs yours could be 100% different. That's why there are no guaranteed loan offers at 70% regardless of the old days it is just not that way now. The metrics are a great tool for us as owners to use but all 100% doesn't mean a new offer to follow and maybe that wording should be changed to clarify that it is a tool not a guarantee of an offer coming right type thing. Newer users have a harder time with that one. What a lot of people don't know is Square is working 24/7 on new features and tools for us as owners to use to speed up our time, paperwork, and loans. When we all don't fit one number with millions of users worldwide all I can say is better them than me and go get it done 😆 I am not the coding person at all. Right now all we have is each other and users like yourself posting your % and anything else that you or anyone else post does help others who come on and see the post and comments. I see 10 plus a day at 60% and say well, I see I have a wait here. Thank you, everyone, for the update! Good luck with your loan and hopefully it will come in soon! Process like crazy if you can and help kick in that algorithm!

You will! The board is hot right now. How are your metrics? All good? No disputes, the rest as a barber I hope wouldn't apply with returns 😆 but hard to say anymore. Are you independent or in control of when you can run a sale-type thing? I know some who rent a chair and space and can't or are limited to what they can do. I know if I close the 80% range. I'm a retail furniture store I can run a 10% off or more if I want the new stuff on the floor now with taxes rolling. Between Thursday - Saturday I have spiked my metrics in daily sales, new vs returned customers, and increased daily sale volumes. Boom up 8-10% hit around 90% and more often than not Saturday night offer comes in. Is it a 100% guarantee no but I follow the trends of everyone to see how or what could get the algorithm to pick up an increase in activities. Nobody is ever going to figure out an algorithm that changes and updates nonstop. All we have is each other sharing with each other what or why did you different from the next guy. If you can do a sale March into a 10% off a certain cut, trim whatever you can to get them to swipe that card. Good luck and I will be watching for that offer.

We been at it for 10 years and always gotten an offer . Last year. We raised our prices and opened on Mondays. I’m almost wondering if it’s some type of new tax issue or something going on in the world today?? Everything checks green. I’ll let you know if something comes in. Thanks for replying.

Well, the economy, the market, and stocks play a big role. Not just here but worldwide. So, if things are smooth here what happens around the world still impacts us and vice versa. You got this! Go and get it!

Ok, that's great! All mine were the same and sales vs the previous year were up 55%. Three weeks in February it took a dip but back up again. I'm in Michigan and it was brutal for 2-3 weeks. I received my offer on the first Friday in February and increased the dollar amount by more than double the previous offer. That Sunday started 1 of 3 big dumps of snow and -25 outside with the windchill. We were closed more than open with those temps and close to a foot of snow each dump. 2 days later I probably wouldn't have received an offer or not that much of an increase. 2 weeks of good weather and already met my minimum though. It just has to pick you off is all and it will. The board is moving pretty well right now. I will be watching for your post.

If you have seen the posts this week they are moving pretty well now. So far, everyone has posted an increase over the previous offer also a good sign. I started the day at 87% on my last offer in the first week of February and Friday night offer came in and I was 90% then. The good majority is in the mid-80s to mid-90s. A good handful sooner same as those paid off. You got this!

That's why small business owners are still the backbone of America! Big box come and go and never blink an eye. Yet, we do the cancer benefits, donate to the youth football team, donate extra food to the homeless. We stick together, we support our community, and in return the community supports us and appreciates it. I shop locally first 100% if nobody has it then and only then will I go out and get it.
