September 2025 Loan Offers?

Currently paid back 78% on my current loan. All green indicators (except for paid back percentage). We are on our 26th loan with Square and these loans have helped our women owned business survive through some rough times.  In 2024 we had a our best year ever with a 34% increase YOY. We are trending up 13% this year could really use a new loan to help scale going into a busy holiday season.  Our last loan we are got offered at 60% paid back in February 2025.  We make our 60 day minimum payments in about 10 days. Our credit card processing volume is up 6.2% this year over last year.  New customers are increasing this year and retention is up YOY also.  Really wish there was some kind of indicator to help plan on when new offers could come.  @Abby_M any suggestions or help?

Hey @CakeHopeLove !

I always love to hear how our loans help business during tough times! We appreciate you for continuing to look to us for your businesses funding needs.

With that being said, your account is automatically reviewed daily to determine eligibility! New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid.

If you become eligible again, we’ll notify you directly through email and your Square Dashboard.

Again, we appreciate your loyalty when choosing to partner with us! Please know that your loan history is reviewed in determining loan eligibility, but there are other factors of your account that are also considered.

Let me know if theres anything I can assist with, always happy to help to the best of my ability! ❤️

Adalynn thanks so much for the response.  I understand our accounts are looked at everyday and we will see an offer if one is available on our dashboard.  We have been using square loans since 2014. We will just keep an eye on our loan dashboard and keep our fingers crossed.

Just curious what day you received your offer? I usually get mine sometime over the weekend.

Congrats! These threads are nice to have as some sort of reference and or hope.  I have had 10-11 loans with square had my best yr as well. Paid 85% of current loan, never had to make manual payment with any of them.  All my metrics in green everything increase sales, volume, swipes, mix of customers. So,  I’m patiently waiting for my next loan offer.  I agree these loans have help our small business grow so much and as women owned business as well I’m def grateful for them when they do roll in 🙂

I know when you need them and everything is green and an offer has not shown I always get uneasy that it is not going to happen.  Hopefully one day there will be a better way to plan, but now it is just keep processing.   My new offer was also at a lower percentage each day, so that was also nice.

Hi I am in the same boat been with Square 2014 and had many loans . I’m at 79% and as a woman owned small business it has helped me so much. I have never had any chargebacks or anything negative with Square. Did you call square or anything else maybe to help get them to look over your loan account.

Lisa the only thing I did was create this thread.  I am not sure if @Abby_M did anything to have anyone look over it.

I want to add something here so that no one gets the wrong idea.

The fact that @CakeHopeLove made a post and then got an offer is entirely a happy coincidence and nothing more.  @Abby_M did not intervene.  No Square employee CAN intervene or look things over and override the algorithm to make offers come sooner for any seller, period.

Also, the algorithm is gender-neutral, race-neutral and everything-else neutral.  The algorithm only cares about processing volume, history, stats, etc.  So it ishelpful to keep discussions like these with the same sort of neutrality.  We don't want the algorithm to be programmed to give preference to anyone for any reason because once it starts doing that then questions of discrimination start coming into play.  The fact that this is a level, statistics-based playing field is a very good thing and Square should keep it that way.

Thank you @TheRealChipA I didn't mean to add any confusion or imply that Abby had any control over anything.  Agree totally that this is a good thing for all.  The only reason I brought up being a woman owned business is because most other places this is a factor and that is what make Square better.

@CakeHopeLove That was not directed to you one bit.  😏. My apologies if it came across that way.  I'm just leery on the loan board about the fact that many people will assume that YOUR experiences should be THEIR experiences.  Nothing is further from the truth, especially with Square Loans.  We are all very unique.

My other comment was similarly not because you mentioned being a woman-owner business.  Again, people often read what they want to read.  I was certain you meant it as "it's nice to have a level playing field," and I whole-heartedly agree. Honestly, I've loved your thread.  You not only asked a question and even groused a little, which is natural.  But THEN you came back here and updated with good news!  That is so rare in the Community as to be shocking! LOL. So, thank you for everything you reported, and said.  You said nothing wrong.  I'm just leery of those who will misinterpret things.

Shannon,

Chip here. It’s the end of a long busy ice cream day — in October in Kentucky, weirdly enough. It feels like summer here again and our sales show it, as does my aging Boomer body after a 12 hour day. Ha. Anyway that’s my explanation for taking so long to reply to this post of yours.

re: your comment that “Civil conversation online is so nice to have!” I couldn’t agree more. As much as I love the promise of the internet, I despise what it too often is in reality — a cesspool of division and hate. I, and many others here in the Community, strive to make this a place where we can help and support each others as we grow our businesses. It’s nice to know our efforts are noticed.

We should all be here to support each other as business owners. Sometimes that means just being encouraging and helpful. Other times it means being brutally honest when such honesty might not be exactly welcome. But that is also support because there are times we all need to be called out when we  are not thinking right.

That’s my way of inviting you to make a commitment to come here regularly when you have some time. Look over the unanswered questions. If you have input and experience and knowledge that can help someone else, don’t hesitate to reply. We all benefit from involvement like that.  Honestly I think that this Seller Community is one of the things that sets Square apart and above its competitors.

Chip,

Ice Cream in Kentucky tell me more...as a bakery owner Ice Cream in my weakness.  The internet has so many good things that it can do, but also so many ugly bad things.  Our sign off line on all of our videos is remember "be nice to each other".  Maybe we should come up with some type of "sweet" alliance to make the world a nicer place. We are in Ohio so we can't be that far away from each other!

I need to make sure I check her more often to be able to provide more feedback across the platform.

Have a great weekend and hopefully you will get to prop you feet up and enjoy this cooler weather.

Shannon,

Ohio, eh?  We are part of the Greater Cincinnati metro.  We live and work in Covington, KY, which is just across the Ohio River from Downtown Cincinnati.

Our shop specializes in soft serve in over 70 flavors (using very highly concentrated flavor squirts), and through the magic of blending we can make over 100,000 flavor blends!  We also have over 50 toppings and various options that, ultimately, allow us to more a few BILLION unique frozen treats.  And that's before using those same flavors for craft sodas, coffee drinks, teas, lemonades, ciders and more.  It's definitely unique and something we capitalize on.

We are in our 13th year and have outgrown the space we started the business in.  We just signed a lease on a new space that is only a block away, which is perfect.  It's an old historic building that is very common in our mixed-use historic neighborhood.  Here's a link to our blog announcement about the new venue.  We start renovations next week.

Otherwise to your comments about "the internet."  Over the past few months, we have made the momentous decision to minimize our presence on social media.  It started a few months ago when we announced a new line of vegan soft serve -- in addition to our regular offering.  You would have thought that I had announced that we were making blood sacrifices on the front lawn, and including a side show of flag burning!  I was accused of "giving in to the terrorist vegans," and "bringing shame upon the American institution of ice cream."  The trolls hit us pretty hard.  And, then, recently we were trolled again for having great ice cream, but for being obviously owned by “libtards.”  That pretty much broke me.

I deleted our Instagram page.  I deactivated our Facebook page and spent a month deleting all posts from it.  Then I locked it down -- no outside posts allowed, no comments on any posts allowed, no reactions to my posts made public.  Now I use it as a billboard for new blog entries and then link to those.  I can control my blog.  I use Disqus to vet the comments, filter them and make a list of suspect comments for me to review.  It's all under my control and I have a very handy ban button that, if I ever need to use it, causes Disqus to review that person's entire history with them and not just with me.

I'm much happier now.  My business is back in my hands and not at the mercy of the very poor job that FB, IG and the other do with vetting trolls.  Best of all, I have one channel for communications and all of the other channels are just gateways to send people to that one channel.  That's SO much less work.

Anyway, that's more than you asked for.  Tell me about your place?  I'm a baked good addict, who is so happy he does not have gluten sensitivities.
