Has anyone had any offers this year yet? Usually i get mines ay 63-65% rn im at 73% and havenโt get one yetโฆ starting to get anxious ๐ฌ
Hey there @Jso1961.. I'm paying off one at 75% now. And I'm not expecting a new offer any time soon. For at least the past two years, new offers have been coming much later than they used to. These days, I'm hearing from LOTS of sellers here that a) offers aren't coming until the high 80% at the earliest, with many not receiving offers until the previous loan is completely paid off, and b) many are experiencing lower offers than they have received before.
Honestly, this doesn't surprise me too much given the absolute shambles of an economy we are experiencing, with no real reasons to expect that it will get better any time over the next few years. The lending market doesn't react well to uncertainty like we are experiencing, and it is not just Square's loan arm that is being conservative and cautious.
Keep in mind that I'm NOT saying that you definitely won't get an offer soon. I'm just saying that the overwhelming experiences I'm reading about here on a daily basis say that you should probably not have high expectations. And you definitely shouldn't be anxious, unless your business depends on loans to survive, which is a different story. Another offer will come if your card volume is growing and your other business milestones are where they should be. But I believe (and many other sellers here believe) that the days of new offers at 60-70% are in our rearview mirror.
Hi @KEC413
Thanks for posting on the Square Community.
Loan eligibility and offers are based on a variety of factors including payment processing volume, account history, and payment frequency. We routinely review eligibility of our sellers for Square Loans.
If you donโt see an offer in your Square Dashboard and havenโt received an email noting youโre eligible, you are not eligible at this time. If your business becomes eligible at a later time, you will see loan offers in your Square Dashboard.
Please contact us directly, our Square Loans line is open between 8am-5pm PT Monday-Friday if you want to give us a call.
Thank you but still waiting for an approval ๐๐ผ the last 2 were instant approvals this one is not. Itโs pending hopefully it gets approved soon. Can really use this since we are expanding this fall.
Something has definitely changed recently with Square Loans. I recently paid off a $27k loan in August, and as recently as August 27th Square was offering me up to $90k. We're in a position where we don't need the cash so we didn't take a new loan, but today our offer was changed to a "Cash Flow Boost" offer for up to $10k and 120 day repayment terms. That makes even less sense for my business, so I think I'm done with financing through Square.
Oh wow that is new to me, โcash flow boostโ! @Twpchair have you heard of this?
Iโve been seeing this come up more recently too! The โCash Flow Boostโ appears to be a shorter-term funding option that Square has been offering some sellers, and itโs definitely different from the traditional Square Loans many of us are used to.
From what Iโve seen shared here in the Community, some longtime Square Loan users who previously received much larger offers have suddenly been presented with smaller 120-day offers instead. So youโre definitely not the only one seeing this change.
I personally would look VERY carefully at the repayment percentage and 120-day requirement before accepting one, especially if youโre accustomed to the flexibility of a traditional Square Loan where payments fluctuate with sales.
The interesting part is that declining/not accepting the smaller offer doesnโt necessarily mean thatโs all youโll ever qualify for. Square continues evaluating accounts, so another or larger offer could potentially appear later.
Iโd love to hear from Square on whether Cash Flow Boost is being rolled out more broadly or if certain sellers are simply being offered this option based on their individual accounts
Thanks for the additional context!
