Hello,
Is square no longer offering new loans as soon as they did before? Seems like it's more to becoming eligible than the account activity and eligibility factors.
Hey @businessco_
Yeah square is still offering loans, and I would guess hundreds of loans are being offered a day. This thread here probably has the most information for loans of 2025 from many different sellers input with regards to % paid back etc. The % paid back has been reported to been much higher since 2024 based on information from that thread.
Tightening up loan offers and eligibility is probably something that should have been done years ago, if that is what they are doing.. Its hard to guess what is going on behind the scenes with the algorithm they have in place.
No problem. I see you are new here, so Welcome. May I also suggest joining this group. A group of fellow business owners like yourself. I'm sure there is some great information tips and tricks what others may be doing to boost sales, and maybe you won't even need the Square loan!
Best of luck with the business, and I'm sure it'll pick up soon for you.
Cheers
I applied for loan what’s happened to my loan
Hi @kem79
Appreciate you taking the time to post.
New offers are not automatically extended when a certain percentage of an existing loan is repaid. Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. Repaying your existing plan does not guarantee that your business will be eligible for another offer.
While you are not currently eligible for an offer, your account is automatically reviewed daily to determine eligibility. Offers are based on many factors, including, but not limited to, your current payment processing volume, your customer mix, and your Square account history. Please know that Square Banking is committed to helping your business succeed, we will continue to monitor your account and notify you if your business becomes eligible for a Square Loan offer.
Please contact us directly if you have any other questions.

Thank you! Hopefully something starts moving soon . I’ve been pretty slow with the summertime as a hairstylist so it would definitely help with some inventory to run a few product sales.

Thank you! and I definitely just joined the group you suggested!
I agree. Fellow stylist here looking to replenish some inventory. I had loan offered with less % before. I keep crossing my fingers everyday. Good luck 🍀
What percent are you at?
Hello, yes they are. It has been a roller coaster honestly. The majority of people are in the upper 80s-90% paid off. Next is completely paid off and last is a few that pop in around 70% those seem to be ones where all metrics aren't just good but great. Sales are up, processing, and volume of sales are really up. Paying the loan off quickly with just sales in half the time. It is hard to judge right now without going into a lot of details. All my metrics are good but I am averaging around 67% higher this year vs last year. With no guarantee of whether or when you might receive one, it's up to the old’ algorithm to pick you up. The increase in the above-mentioned does help to pick off something. Regardless of all of it Square still always takes into account your years with Square, prior history with loans not all is 100% metrics. Those are great tools for us to use as well. I wish I could tell you the good old days of 70-75% and almost always a guaranteed offer would come rolling in but it's not like that anymore. There are a couple of other groups' loans in 2025 and I believe the other is loan offers in 2025. They have the most activity on them. Good luck and hopefully soon! What % are you at now? Have you been with Square for a while now? Last, how is business going? If you don't mind it helps to guesstimate a bit better.
Thank you!!! I’m currently at 87% and I’ve been with square since 2015 but I stopped using them in 2019 and I’ve started again in 2023. I’ve had about 6 loans total between then and now. Everything looks good as far as the factors go. But it has been a little slower in the salon . Hopefully something hits soon. I haven’t been getting much cc transactions over the last month . I’m sure that’s a factor, I’ve been checking every day to see if anything changes.
Hopefully you received one or tearing up some sales. It is a factor but it isn’t a deal breaker. They take into consideration your overall sales and your previous history with Square and prior loans as well. So don’t stress over a bad month regarding loans. I know it hurts in general especially our bank account but it happens. We all have been down that road it’s just pushing through it and getting back to business. Good luck to you and I will be watching for your post! @Minion is a great help and will always lead you to the right threads for you to be on. Good luck to you.
Did you finally get an offer?
Hi @businessco_
Thanks for posting on the Seller Community.
Eligibility and offers are based on a variety of factors including payment processing volume, account history, and payment frequency, Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that another offer will be extended before or after the current plan is complete. While you are not currently eligible for an offer, your account is automatically reviewed daily to determine eligibility. If you become eligible again, we’ll notify you directly through email and your Square Dashboard.
Feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any additional questions!
I’ve had 3 loans and always been offered after 75%. I’ve always had my repayment paid well before the due date. This time I haven’t been offered a loan and I’m sitting at 80%. I have been thinking about going to my bank and using the tap and go to take payments as they said it would be easier for me to get a bank loan if I use their system instead of square.
I haven't thought about trying through my bank with processing or a loan. I may have to look into that just for more info. Square maybe moving a little slow but I haven't had any issues or complaints, however it's tricky to know when an offer will come. With squareI like that the payback comes from daily sales vs having to worry about a monthly or weekly fee Ive been presented with from other capital loan offers I've looked into.
Im having a meeting with the bank tomorrow afternoon to find out more information on fees etc. I have loved square since having the business but having more options able would be handy and convenient.
I agree 100%! I love Square and use so many of their tools and apps. I also have their Square savings and do accept offers. I also have been with my local Credit Union since day one. I have a great relationship with them as well and wouldn't change a thing. Good luck with your bank and I hope everything goes fast and smooth for you! I'm not one to put all my eggs into one basket either. That and I think it's good to have a local bank that you can work with as well.
I missed this one sorry. Square does have a new payment method which might be a question for one of the Mods. I know that it isn't available to everyone just yet but it is a monthly payment vs per daily swipes. Usually, when they roll out something new it's a smaller test group and if all is good and running smoothly then it slowly gets released. I don't know what or if there are any stipulations or not but I can go and see what's up with it. Just wanted to let you know and I apologize for missing this question. Good luck and hopefully you have received an offer or it went great with the bank.
Had meeting with the bank and the fees are pretty much the same. I’m honestly considering making the move.
I have had a line of credit (LOC) with my local credit union since around 2019. I understand that you have to do what is best for your business. While Square loans can be beneficial for users, the downside is that they may not provide support when you actually need it. Personally, I have always preferred having a line of credit rather than a loan. A few years ago, there were rumors about potential changes, but they did not happen as anticipated. I truly wish you the best and hope you decide to stick around. Good luck with everything!
Hopefully we get a offer soon! We received a loan offer but it was way lower than the previous one but it was an offer and it helped us. We are now hoping for a higher loan offer soon, almost at 50% so really hoping here! We really need it!
Okay send me what’s your offer I am with square almost 15/20 years
