Hello @AustinTxWeird thanks for your question. Just so I'm understanding correctly...do you want to take a cash payment, and then have that cash available to spend with your Square debit card? If that is the case, what you're talking about is like using a local bank ATM card...you cannot spend money in a debit card account that hasn't been deposited into that bank, so you'd have to physically make a cash deposit into your bank so you then can spend that money through a debit card. Otherwise, it would be like telling Square you got $10 or whatever in cash, now you want to spend that $10 with your Square debit card...but you still have $10 cash in your hand . So Square would be giving you an extra $10 free money, if that makes sense. ?
Square Debit cards are used to access funds in your Square Balance, and those are usually received when you take credit card payments. You can have Square transfer money from your Balance account into an external checking/bank account, or you can just access that money with your Square debit card.
If you just want to record the Cash payment for accounting and sales reports, you can go into your dashboard, phone app or POS that you use with Square to record payments, and accept the payment as cash. But Square would not give you that cash amount back to you....you're still holding that cash money in your hands. Square would just be recording the payment for your records.
