Took over business from ex husband, got a loan offer from square. They denied it due to him having a balance. His account has nothing to do with me or my business. Has anyone had this happen, if so, how did you get it fixed to where someone else's account doesn't affect yourself
Hello @Stacey861, thanks for reaching out, and I understand your frustration with this.
To investigate this further you will need to contact Square Capital. Did you ever provide your information on his account? As @TheRealChipA mentioned any information that could tie you guys together like your social security number or bank account could be a reason you were denied.
To get confirmation you can reach our Square Capital Team at

Hey @Stacey861. First, you didn’t mention whether or not you had spoken with the Loan Department directly. But, if you didn’t, here is a link to their contact information.
Secondly, was there ever a time when your husband’s name, SSN, etc, was attached to your Square account? For example, did he by any chance set up the Square account using his SSN or was he in any other way considered a responsible party to your Square account? If so, that is enough for the denial. Hopefully the folks at the loan department can help you resolve this, or at least get you to the correct department to effect whatever legal changes might be needed to ensure he is removed.
Good luck.
