Solution

Hey there, @Mr_Alfred

Great question! At this time, the Square Savings account is only available in the US.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, I am happy to help.

Solution

unfortunately, after the PATRIOT ACT was passed many regulations changed regarding banking and credit card processing.

Social Security Number Requirement

We are required by banking industry regulations and federal law to ask for the Social Security number, date of birth, and full name for each of our primary account holders. The only alternative to providing a SSN is a valid ITIN. There is no way to create a Square account without this information.

Even if you plan on using Square as a business or organization, in order to create a Square account you must provide your individual name, mailing address, date of birth, and a valid SSN or ITIN.

Thanks for responding, @Kassi_

Maybe what I should explain is that I’ve successfully filled an LLC in the US, and posses an EIN with the IRS.

What I’m trying to understand is if Square recognises a company as a separate entity to the individual.

I was able to open a Mercury bank account without a SSN, and I believe Chase and Relay permit the same for non-US-residents.

Is there a method of using company documents to receive approval for the Square savings account with a SSN?
