So other than your website and Etsy where online or apps do you sell the most such as facebook, instagram, and so many other? My biggest selling place is the Nextdoor app.
Hello SEASIDESTONES2
I use facebook adds every now and again and it may be chance but there are always sales, you don't know with facebook if it's through the add or by customers searching the web, out of all the add methods out there i find facebook to be the easiest to set up, cheapest by far for the amount of traffic it generates and best value for money, but i would say to most that paying for adds is a waste of time for them, any methods that advertise your stuff for free is always the best way to go for most, and this includes the big companies as well and it is genuine with the traffic reports with potential customers that are actually interested in your products, i must admit my main site which i've had since 2008 is big, and in 2021 i wanted a change of site, i came across square and had the hunger to try something new ( while having my main site carry on making sales ), from starting with the new site i have now become within the top 3 on google search for different categories, and some of the main categories are either top or have pushed my main site off the top 3 spot ( didn't expect that ), i say this because i started out on square like almost everyone else on here, from scratch, but had the experience of knowing how to word things to it's best ability for search engines, i have not paid for google ads, i have only have 3 or 4 outbound links connected to site ( which are all almost payment method links ) and the rest of my links are internal, but it has been put together with minimal fuss, the real big thing between a square site and my main site ( it competes with Amazon, Ebay and Etsay for rankings and is above them on most categories ) is square is modern, clean looking and has a nice simple relaxing look on the eye, with a lot of fresh things you can do with pages and payment options, for behind the scenes hands on experience squares sites are fab, it just takes a little playing around with how you want it to finally look, just remember that the SEO section at the bottom of every category or item page must be filled in and correctly, i see know end of adverts saying rank higher on google etc, if you want to get noticed properly, try this, say you want to buy a specific item ( think like a customer would and think what you would type if you wanted to buy an item you were looking for ) now once you've typed that item in, and google shows you the results, towards the bottom of every google page there are different choices that google picks for you to look at based on your search, take notice of these because these are googles search key phrases, which carry more weight than keywords, look at which of this phrases best suits your category or item and add that into your title ( SEO section ) so say i'm looking for a gold bangle, google gives me options on solid gold bangle, solid gold bangles for sale, 14K gold bangles for Women etc, if i was selling a 14K gold bangle i would put in the SEO section "14K solid Gold Bangle for sale for Women" ( if you were only selling in the USA ) i would put USA at the end of the title as well in the SEO section, from the above title you will get endless keyword and key phrases from it and will be shown on lots of different searches, ( i hope you see where i am coming from as this works with anything being sold, just try it ), this will sure fire rocket you through googles and MSN and every other search engines rankings, be more targeted for potential customers who want to buy, and it's all free to do, just put a little time in with wording, i tell everyone, if you are gonna sell on the web, the sky is the limit if you want it to be, you can be a one person business ( even part time ) but you make it look to the World like you are as big as Amazon, there is no limit on the web, you don't need 1000's of items to get noticed, just structure a site well where everything inside that site links to somewhere else on that site easily, and your SEO section filled in correctly ( only for search engine purposes this is ) and you will get far more out of it than you spend on your site once the groundwork is done, i started my main site in 2008 while i was in full time work at a manufacturers, we knew by 2009 it would be over with the global recession becoming full blown, so i paid for a site, didn't even know how to use a pc back then, but allowed time for it to grow while i was in a job, in January 2009 everyone at the factory lost their job, and it really was a case of now it's sink or swim for me, and the rest as they say is history, i only wish i had done all this sooner, even in quiet times it's far better than working and making someone else money, and that's a thought to everyone
I sell paintings and definitely have a specific group of people that would by just because my art style isn’t for everyone
That's great to hear do you sell online if so where other than websites an Etsy?
I do use depop and have made a few sales from that but going to craft/art shows where i can sell my art in person is by far the most effective way
Facebook is where most of our online sales come from. We do Facebook Live shows, page a Facebook page, and have multiple groups. We also sell from our website. We do not use Etsy.
Wow that's great to hear I sell jewelry and I haven't had much luck with Facebook is there anyway you can give me tips on how to make my Facebook better I have a Facebook page for my business and I'm apart of all sorts of group but it just doesn't seem to be working for me?
I am not sure I can be that helpful as we sell very little jewelry on our Facebook live shows. We do one show that is cabochons; that show is geared to jewelry makers. Our other shows are geared toward collectors as we sell a lot of carvings, towers, spheres, etc. Jewelry sells more at gem and mineral shows (we do 20 a year) and on our website.
What kind of jewelry do you make?
I found the link in your profile.
Our products are quite different so our audiences are probably different. Have you done any Facebook ads to drive people to your page/website?
Yeah I have but they didn't really work that's why I stopped no sense and putting money into something that doesn't work. but I just know there's just some app or website that I'm missing out on now I just have people come to my house I don't do online as far as shipping yet I wanted to wait till I had way more sells to do something like that.

This is excellent information! I will try your SEO tips !
Thank you for your wonderful tips on how we can make our website better it's very nice to know there are people out there with such wonderful ideas and yes I do free advertisement all the time the best way I found to advertise is doing as with Canva
Thank you for your tips.I am curious how are you advertising with Canva. I have just signed up with Canva to follow your tip. Do you create posts in Canva and share on Facebook and Instagram ? Is it a way to boost the posting with Canva with the free account ? Thank you
What actually Canva has it where you can make advertisements you know like things for fall winter or like Valentine's Day but what I really like about canva and I can make post for Facebook or Instagram and they already have them formatted to fit size requirements. So yes you can have a free account as far as boosting they don't brush them for you but after you create the ads you can immediately during the same for us as have them sent over to your Facebook or downloading process. It's a really great tool I've made a lot of great advertisements. I would show you a few that I've made Just for the Fall season coming up but for some reason they won't post but if you PM me I might be able to show you that.
Thank you so much for your detailed response! I would PM you but I am not sure how to do it. I suggest that maybe you can insert an URL in your response here as I see this can be done in this messaging system
If I understand correctly, Canva is free. Is there a way to advertise solely with Canva or do I need an Instagram account to be able to post my ad? I'm not on FB as that's not for me for many reasons, but I too sell Jewelry and looking for the most cost-effective advertising folks have had luck with. Thanks
Yes Canva is 100% free you can definitely make the ads fully with Canva but you have to post them yourself. Most of the stuff on Canva is free they have pre-made ads that you can edit anyway you like and download for free.
Thanks!
I have a Square Online store, but the majority of my sales are at physical events. I decided to leverage my Square Online inventory for events. This way I never sell anything twice.
I tried Facebook integration, but it started spamming Facebook, so I shut it down.
Google integration was problematic over a year ago and I've been in IT higher education for 28 years. I gave up trying to make it work. It started complaining about no return or exchange policy this week. Square support didn't offer any useful help.
I integrated my Square inventory into Tiktok a while back, but have only had 1 sale. It ties directly back into Square. I'm playing the long game with TIkTok. It may pay off eventually, but it's really a promotional tool.
Google My Business has helped direct traffic. I publicize all of my events through it. There is a local Facebook small business group that has really helped.
Advertising has been a complete waste of money for me. 😕 I've tried Facebook, Google and NextDoor. It is simply too easy to be drowned out by non-small businesses.
Congratulation! I found so much valuable information you shared with community. Thank you so much ! I have similar challenges with Facebook, Instagram shops and with Google my Business.
Well the thing is that I don't sell online as far as shipping it to people houses and then paying me back debit or credit I sell-by having people meet me in person and sell it to them directly. but I do definitely agree that Facebook ads were definitely a waste of time and that money I did about five of them and I was unhappy with the results. I am one of those people who does aggressive posting well that's what I call it I post in groups I post on my Facebook page Instagram things like that. My feelings are if I can get my name everywhere eventually someone will see it that's actually one of the ways I got on a entrepreneur show. I figured that in my free time when I am doing nothing I can be posting about my business so it's just me the couch my TV some snacks and my cell phone posting away 😆. As far as Google it was not very helpful to my business I have a Google business page and it did nothing for me most people thought I was fixing jewelry not selling it. Now on to the next door app is easy to get drowned out by other things I noticed that especially with the business page however one thing I like to do is go around and search the word jewelry first words that have to do with my business to see if anyone is looking for it they are I immediately send them a friend request. Another thing I do is when people accept friend request from me I have a pre-written message it says thank you for the friend request please go check out my handcrafted jewelry store then I give them all my information and also an advertisement that I made with canva that shows off pictures of some of the things we make. it really seems to work for me because I had started a men's line and I only made about four pieces just to start to see what happened in about two weeks after making them someone bought all four of them. Which now I can write that goal off my list someone buying multiple pieces at once 😆.
